Alison Ojany Primrose née Owuor (1983–2025)

Alison Ojany’s writing explored human contradictions, paradoxes and wounds. Her speculative fiction, with a particular preference for horror, reflected and refracted human absurdities, fears, insecurities and hauntings. Drawing on her plural Kenyan roots, she engaged with themes ranging from racial injustice to climate change.

Alison was also a co-founder of the arts for social change collective 5 Jordan, alongside Richard Ali and Rafaeet Aliyu.
